I'm planning on restructuring the blog to share some of what I've learned as a new mama, and feeding is a great place to start!
Best tip for mealtimes? Keep a stack of old t-shirt scraps close at hand to wipe little hands and faces with!
I take my husband's old t-shirts (if they have a hole, they're MINE!) and cut them into 8 pieces:
each sleeve yields a rag, and the body is large enough to cut into three pieces, using widthwise cuts. I then cut those in half using the side seams, and get 6 more pieces. I keep them folded in an old utensil crock right next to the high chair for easy access. They're also invaulable when it comes to washing - you can bleach them as much or as often as you want. Carrots don't seem to come out of ANYTHING, and I don't want to ruin the cute burp rags by bleaching them, so this is a happy alternative :)
The link below is for a Gerber giveaway - check it out!

Feeling a little discourage ...
Has it really been almost 4 months since I posted? Yikes ... that seems to track with how crazy everything else has been feeling, however!
And it's ironic that I take almost 4 months off and then come back to whine. I am 33, almost 34, weeks pregnant. I feel pretty good, but I am tired of my maternity pants not staying up (no waist), the numbers on the scale going up, being so very hungry but not having anything actually taste good, and simply not being able to find a comfortable place. I am discouraged that I am not as financially responsible as I would like to be, but am on a very short time crunch to learn and adapt to it.
I am grateful that the Braxton-Hicks are not terribly painful, just occasionally uncomfortable. I'm grateful that I haven't gained a horrible amountof weight and can still move around fairly easily (once I get up, that is!). I am grateful that an active little one at night can be enjoyed (I'll miss those kicks and stretches!) and remedied by simply turning over. I don't have to go downstairs, make a bottle, feed the baby, burp the baby, get him to sleep, get him in bed, roll back to bed, try to fall asleep and do it all over again only a short time later. What were we thinking, taking on the responsibility, time investiment and expense of a baby? ACK!
I STILL have about 6 weeks to go, but I ONLY have about 6 weeks to go. Wow. Say a little prayer, and pass the heating pad, please!
